Oncology nursing Jobs
Oncology nurses have to know how to deal with pain. They treat and comfort the patients through every stage of cancer. They should be able to address the patients´ questions about surgery complications (if any), chemotherapy effects, nutrition, medications side-effects or any other questions that are cancer -related. They also do additional work that includes coordinating appointments, doing some routine weights, removing sutures and radiotherapy. They basically have to do all the monitoring. There is a certain level of autonomy in the job, but they still have to follow doctors´ orders. Nurses can work in specific areas such as palliative care or bone narrow transplantation, for example. They have to understand that the job is time-consuming and emotionally exhausting.
